Bluepoint Swim, Inc. – The Company

Bluepoint, S.N., Argyrosm S.A. (a.k.a, Bluepoint Swim, Inc.), was established in 1969, and under the direction of Founder and President, Spiros N. Argyros, created a company that is internationally recognized for its design and production of high-quality swimwear. Headquartered in Athens, Greece, Bluepoint was the first European swimwear manufacturer to perfect swimwear separates. The company was instantly recognized all over Greece for its high quality products and original, innovative designs.

Bluepoint's reputation eventually got the attention of international companies throughout Europe and helped it land the first major private label contract based in Italy. Within a few years, Bluepoint had major clients such as La Perla, Dolce & Gabbana, Addidas, Nike, Speedo, H&M, Arena and many more throughout Europe. Bluepoint was exporting to such countries as Italy, Germany, France, England, Spain and Sweden.

In 1992, Theodore Argyros took the reins of his father's business and joined with his close childhood friends, Dmitri and Peter Kanavos, determined to fulfill a dream by launching Bluepoint in the United States. Bluepoint Swim, Inc., as it is known in the U.S., was established in 1999 to accommodate the sales and distribution for all of North America. Major private label contracts for the U.S. division include Bisou-Bisou Swim, Heatwave, Victoria's Secret, The Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy and others. Bluepoint's innovative designs include fabrications that range from elegant animal prints to bead-trimmed crochet, sexy leathers, shiny paillettes, hippie prints, double-faced and silver chain trimmed Lycra and transparents. Bluepoint swimwear features an imaginative selection of Velcro and clear strap closures and stylistic details for every kind of body.

Playboy Enterprises, Inc., in May of 2000, chose Bluepoint Swim, Inc., as the exclusive swimwear licensee for Playboy Swim. This new partnership Sent sales skyrocketing and Playboy Swim became one of the biggest success stories for swimwear in 2001. Bluepoint's line represents nearly $90 million in sales and is distributed in the U.S. in Gadzooks, Nordstrom, Fred Segal, Everything But Water, Water, Water, Everywhere, Ron Jon Surf Shops, Jacobsons, Robinson-May, Fast Forward, Diane's Swimwear, Canyon Beachwear and Marco Despin.

A natural outgrowth of swimwear styling, Bluepoint has also expanded its business into the intimate apparel industry by creating a high quality line of lingerie for women. Ecstasy Bodywear/Underwear is solely distributed in Europe.

Since it's foray into the U.S. in 1999, Bluepoint has enjoyed a warm welcome from the media as featured swimwear in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimwear issue and in Glamour, InStyle, and Cosmopolitan magazines. Bluepoint swimwear has been worn by Cindy Crawford, Pamela Anderson, and Carmen Electra on MTV, E! Entertainment TV and CBS-TV's "Temptation Island."
